A banana is an iconic figure in the world of fruits, and its eaten and enjoyed by people worldwide. As such, its a travesty how someone managed to answer “orange,” when asked to name a yellow fruit.
For people who have been living under a rock for most of their lives, a banana is a yellow fruit that is long and thin, as well as having a curved shape. The banana is covered in a yellow peel, which must be peeled back to eat the soft white insides of a ripe fruit. When a banana is not ripe, its peel takes on a green colour, which gradually changes to full yellow as the fruit progresses in its ripening stages. When the banana starts to overripe past its prime, brown spots will begin to emerge, until the banana is turned brown and soft. While many variations of bananas exist, the basic idea is the same around the world.
